  1. Do you guys think that they'll introduce custom moves back again in Ultimate

I'm saying this because of the number of special moves they showed
(could be just a suuuper gimmicky character but still, it'd be fun)

  2. I'm still confused about this reveal…

Ok let me see, when Hero from DQ III showed this MP bar and the ability menu they only showcased Snooze, they didn't show Oomph, Sizzle and Psyche Up. Just Snooze, and then they showed Bounce, Kacrackle Slash, Kaclang, Zoom (this one confuses me the most), and Kamikazee. 5 more abilities i believe are special attacks.

Ok there we have 9 abilities, but let's just say they used different names when they were being showcased, so we have 6 abilities in total. but before, we were showed 3 more: The fireball, the little thunder thing, and then a Zoom but with tornadoes at the starting place, so we have a total of 9 special abilities. Considering this is all the mechanic of the MP bar it still doesn't make any sense, if the mechanic was the case we would have Zoom that i believe is the Up B, The fireball that i believe is the Side B, the little thunder thing i believe is the Neutral B, and the ability menu that i believe is the Down B. Then in this Down B we have Snooze, Sizzle, Oomph, Psyche Up. 7 abilities in total, there's still 2 abilities left, The Zoom with the tornadoes and Maybe Kamikazee.

Sooo what i'm trying to say is that, i think the alts not only change appearance but also the abilities in some way, so basically every alt echoes the MP bar and ability Menu of the DQ XI Hero.

people see a shit ton of specials and don't question themnselves why the heck are there so much specials.

  3. I can’t really see people using Kamikazee, since you evidently kill yourself when activating the explosion. I’m surprised you didn’t bring it up. Also, at 11:56, the alt you said looked like Gohan, the attack he launched looked more like a two-hit combo F-tilit, kind of like Snake’s.

  4. Zero is like the headmaster of Smash. Other people teach certain classes in the college, but Zero designs the classes from the ground up with every character, and everyone knows they can count on him.

  5. A couple insights from a DQ fan…

-On whether the fire or lightning projectile would be more powerful. Lightning magic in DQ is traditionally exclusive to the Heroes and more powerful than similar spells of other elements.
-A couple clues about the animations. When you see the battle menu come up, the Hero goes into this thoughtful pose. This pose doesn't make a ton of sense as a standalone taunt because the heroes aren't known to be especially thoughtful, certainly no moreso than, say, Link or Marth. So it does seem like you'll be choosing your moves on the fly from the menu.
-I only just saw this in your video now, but one of the animations the hero does while Bounce is active is the Psych Up move seen listed in the earlier battle menu. So it seems you most certainly can attack while Bounce is active
-As I've seen mentioned in other comments, Kamikaze in the DQ games is a self-sacrificing attack meant to bring a swift end to a desperate battle, so it probably isn't a counter, but just KOs you and takes anyone near you with you. This may have more utility than one might expect, though, since…
-MP recovery in battle is… not usually a thing that happens in DQ games. MP recovery items are limited and precious. About the only reliable way to recover your MP is returning to town and resting at an inn. With how powerful some of the abilities we see can be, I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say you're MP doesn't recover until you lose a stock. Which means Kamikaze, which traditionally has an MP cost of 1, is liable to be how you regain your MP without just giving up a stock for free every time you run out, as well as something to keep other players wary even as your MP runs low…
