  1. people see this combat system as a mix between 13 and 15, but i feel it is more similar to final fantasy type-0, off course more refined and more complete, with environment playing an higher role and more ability to use. Wich is not bad in my opinion, combat system in type 0 was so fun.

  2. For the folks hating on this…

    1. They are fixing the plot holes of this game. So storywise this remake series will be one of the most complete FFs ever.

    2. Combat needs to be open to all audiences. Those craving Dark Souls like brutally hard battles need to just play those games.
I'm not trying to be an ass but…that series while popular doesn't seel NEARLY as much as any FF title & difficulty (and the frustration it creates) is a big reason behind that.
So far the game has Classic (Turn Based), Easy, & Normal modes.
DLC will probably add a Hard/Critical mode. So give the game a chance.

    3. Square Enix's Focus Tests showed that just coping FF7 & placing a coat of HD/4k Paint over it actually didn't help the game.
Many group were BORED to tears in combat.
We had 1 panel here in Dallas & the entire group loved the story but hated combat.
"Boring", "Archaic", "Tedious", & "Repetitive" were what folks said during the Dallas test panel.
So this new hybrid system is a wonderful improvement & middle ground.
It costs a FUCKLOAD to make this remake…SE has to ensure it breaks even.
Catering to only the diehards will not turn a profit. I'm sorry. But it won't.

I actually preferred FF8 & FF6 to 7. So defending this remake "stings".
But it's a no contest right now, even I have to admit this remake is hitting all the right notes.

    4. Once Square nails the Remake they can focus on remaking older entries.
Entries that actually need the remake treatment; such as FF6, FF2, FF1, & yes…FF8 (since SE lost the source code of it.).
