  1. I'm probably the only person to think this, but I find the hyper-aggressive, hyper-active, jumpy, caffeine addicted monsters that constantly move away from you and leave no real openings to attack to be far more aggravating and annoying than challenging. It takes a lot of the fun out of the fight for me and artificially extends the length of said fight when I have to constantly sheathe and unsheathe my weapon just to run over to them, for them to just cocaine fueled jump back the way I came. It's really not about making a monster challenging at that point and more about making them annoying for the sake of annoying. The challenging monsters are the one that are aggressive and have to be fought defensively until they have clear openings. I've been finding that to be the case with a lot of the iceborne monsters so far, and it renders the clutch claw almost useless to use against them as they immediately slap you off the second you touch them to try and inflict a wound. But that's just how I see it from doing most of it solo so far.
